Nitro Motorsports and Thad Moffitt are headed to the Irish Hills of Michigan this weekend as the ARCA Menards Series returns to the Michigan International Speedway. Riding a wave of strong performances, Moffitt enters the event looking to continue his upward trajectory in the #46 entry for the rookie Nitro Motorsports program.
Moffitt, the grandson of racing legend Richard Petty, has shown consistent pace and speed this season, highlighted by a second-place result at the Talladega Super Speedway and a solid performance at Charlotte, where he overcame mid-race adversity to secure a top-ten result. With momentum on his side, the team is confident heading into the high-speed, two-mile oval in Brooklyn, Michigan.
“Michigan is a fast place, and it’s all about clean air, momentum, and making the right moves in traffic,” explained Thad Moffitt. “I’ve been proud of the gains we’ve made as a team this year, and I feel more comfortable in the car every time we hit the track. Nitro Motorsports has given me the tools to succeed, and I’m excited to see what we can do this weekend.”
Nitro Motorsports, which has made a name for itself across multiple development series in North America, continues to elevate its ARCA program with Moffitt as a key figure in its efforts.
“Thad has been putting in the work both on and off the track, and we’re seeing the results,” added Nitro Motorsports Owner Nick Tucker. “He’s grown as a driver this season, and we’ve got a strong team behind him. Michigan is a track that rewards precision and confidence—two things that we are bringing with us this weekend.”
The green flag for the ARCA Menards Series race at Michigan International Speedway will drop on Friday, June 6. Fans can catch all the action live on FS1 and follow along with Nitro Motorsports on social media for behind-the-scenes updates.
