Nitro Motorsports is ready to take on their first Toyota GR Cup North America event of the 2025 season as they head to Sonoma Raceway for the opening round, March 28-30. The team will field a strong four-car lineup featuring Ethan Ayars, Paityn Feyen, and the Tovo Twins of Ethan and Jackson Tovo, all eager to kick off the season with strong performances on the demanding Napa Valley circuit.
Located in the rolling hills of Northern California’s Wine Country, Sonoma Raceway is a challenging 2.52-mile, 12-turn road course known for its elevation changes and demanding characteristics. The race weekend will begin on Friday with two practice sessions, allowing the drivers to acclimate to their GR86 Cup cars ahead of the weekend’s wheel-to-wheel competition. Saturday will see the first qualifying session of the season, followed by the first race. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with another qualifying session and the final race of the event.
“We’re incredibly excited to make our first Toyota GR Cup starts of the season this weekend at Sonoma,” explained Nitro Motorsports Team Manager Nick Tucker. “We’ve put in a lot of preparation leading up to this moment, and we’re confident in the talent and determination of our drivers. Our technical alliance with Copeland Motorsports gives us a strong baseline, and I know our drivers are anxious to get the season started.”
Tucker added, “Ethan Ayars, Paityn Feyen, Ethan Tovo, and Jackson Tovo each bring something special to the team, and we can’t wait to see them take on the challenge of the GR Cup Series. Sonoma is a great track to start the season, and we’re ready to put our best foot forward.”
