After a dominant showing at Lime Rock Park, Nitro Motorsports is ready to carry its momentum into this weekend’s round of the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. With a formidable eight-car roster in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 class, the team is set to once again make an impact on the national stage.
Returning to action will be race winners and championship contenders Sam Corry and Thomas Annunziata, who delivered a one-two finish for the team at Lime Rock. Corry earned his first career TA2 victory in treacherous wet conditions, while Annunziata backed up his second pole position of the season with a strong runner-up finish.
Joining them at Mid-Ohio will be a talented lineup of Nitro competitors: Mia Lovell, Ben Maier, Cale Phillips, Boris Said Jr., Julian DaCosta, and Gian Buffomante—each bringing their own strengths to the 2.258-mile road course in Central Ohio.
“We’re coming off a huge weekend at Lime Rock, but we’re not taking our foot off the gas,” explained Nick Tucker, Team Owner of Nitro Motorsports. “Mid-Ohio is a technical track that rewards smart, aggressive driving. I’m confident in all eight of our drivers and the team behind them. We’re here to win and to keep building on the momentum we’ve created.”
In addition to the standout performances at Lime Rock, Nitro Motorsports continues to show its depth across the grid. Cale Phillips earned a Pro/Am podium and will look to go one step further at Mid-Ohio, while Buffomante, Said Jr., and DaCosta each showed top-tier pace and resilience under pressure.
Tucker added, “We are coming off great performances in our ARCA, GR Cup North America, and karting programs and look to keep pushing as we roll through 2025 and into 2026.”
Drivers will hit the track Friday for a pair of test sessions before official practice begins Saturday morning, ahead of qualifying that afternoon. Sunday will be the home of wheel-to-wheel racing as the green flag flies at 1:35pm. Be sure to catch all the racing action live at GoTransAm.com.
