It’s a split weekend for Nitro Motorsports as they will take on two different series at two different track locations as they welcome multiple new drivers to their program. Taking on the Trans Am Presented by Pirelli All-Star Race at Lime Rock Park, the Nitro Motorsports Toyota GR Cup North America program will contest rounds seven and eight at the fast and racy VIRginia International Raceway (VIR).
With a two-day show at Lime Rock Park, the Trans Am All-Star race will see a trio of Nitro Motorsports entrants. 2023 TA2 Champion Brent Crews will partner with Andy Lally while 2024 podium winner Thomas Annunziata and former NASCAR star Ryan Newman will wheel a second Nitro machine. AJ Henriksen will partner with one of the iconic motorsports’ names, Andretti, and he and Adam Andretti will complete the six-driver, three-car lineup.
“We love the Trans Am program, and supporting the All-Star race with three entries is awesome,” explained Nitro Motorsports’ Nick Tucker. “Our goal is continuing to win, which will be our intent again this weekend.”
In a different state, a four-drive squad will be flying the Nitro Motorsports flag in Toyota GR Cup North America. Series regulars Jade Avedisian and Tyler Wettengel will be joined by the Tovo Twins, Ethan and Jackson, as the quartet will aim high in the fourth event weekend.
Tucker added, “We welcome Ethan and Jackson to Nitro Motorsports. They started karting with us, and it is great to have them continue in sportscars with us. This is a true definition of our internal ladder program. While they are both young and rookies, they will lean on Jade and Tyler, who have been with us all season long, for some knowledge and to pull from their experience.”
